Could I use Mirai™ Series Striking Gloves while sparring or grappling?
The Mirai™ Series Striking Gloves were designed specifically for heavy bag and pad training. These striking gloves are lighter in weight and superior to traditional lace with the ease of hook and loop systems. If you are looking for sparring equipment, we recommend a traditional sparring glove, such as the Hayabusa Tokushu™ Series 16oz. Gloves.

How is the Mirai™ Series different from other tightening systems?

Powered by the patented Boa® Closure System – an award-winning, premium-grade closure system – the Mirai™ Series line of performance equipment is considered superior to traditional lace and hook and loop systems. Why does the Mirai™ Series consist of shin guards, headgear and striking gloves?
The unique benefits of the Boa® Technology found in the new Mirai™ Series can be applied to numerous pieces of performance equipment. The most popular are gloves, shin guards, and headgear, which is why we wanted to ensure that all were made available to those looking for a premium-fitting line of equipment.
Although, the Mirai™ Series Striking Gloves are intended for bag and pad work, the Mirai™ Series Headgear and Mirai™ Series Shin Guards can be used for either bag and pad work, plus sparring sessions. As mentioned above, many mix martial artists use multiple gloves in their rotation, each for a specific training purpose.
Why is it important to have equipment that fits properly?
To avoid traumatic injury to the tendons and ligaments, fit, support, and proper alignment is crucial while training. Fit has a direct impact on speed, agility and accuracy. It gives you the ability to move quickly and easily, and hit with exact precision. Ultimately, superior fitting equipment provides superior performance.
Why do I need a pair of gloves specifically for bag or pad work?
Gloves designed for bag or pad work vary from those intended for sparring. Both are designed to protect your body from injury, but there are respective benefits as well. A sparring or training glove is designed with additional padding to optimize protection for you as well as your sparring partner. Gloves intended for bag or pad work are usually lighter in weight, are developed with slightly less padding, and allow for increased speed and agility, improving aerobic training.
Many fighters choose to own two sets of gloves: one for bag and pad work, and one for sparring. This will allow you to maximize performance and safety, not to mention, increase the longevity of your gloves.
How do I know which size is right for me?
The Mirai Series line is available in multiple different sizes to ensure the best possible fit. Please refer to the sizing chart of each respective item for further details.
